The chain: an essential element for grounding

To neutralize these electrical charges, tanker trucks are equipped with a  suspended metal chain  that drags on the ground.

 

 

How does it work?

1. Charge conduction:  The chain, made of a conductive material, captures the electrical charges accumulated on the truck.
2. Grounding:  By coming into contact with the ground, it transfers these charges to the earth, thus discharging them.
